Going to Children's Book World in Haverford, PA to see Judy Schachner (renowned author of the Skippyjon Jones books) and get her to sign a copy of her marvelous new picture book, Bits and Pieces. Seriously, the book is charming and adorable. I read it at Barnes & Noble, but knowing that Judy was going to be at CBW, I opted to hold off on purchasing ( Read more... )

1. I'm thinking about Japan today, and very glad that I contributed to Shelter Box, an organization that I learned of via Maureen Johnson's Twitter feed. Shelter Box provides temporary shelters as well as basic necessities to victims of disaster.
